BALLINASLOE COMMUNITY RADIO

Ballinasloe Community Radio was originally called 'Fair on the Air'. It was first on air for ten days in September/October 2002 and made a return appearance as Ballinasloe Community Radio in September 2003. The broadcast frequency on both occasions was 102.8MHz FM. The station was on air especially to cover the local horse fair.

Ballinasloe's Fair on the Air
A temporary-licensed station covering the Ballinasloe Fair and Festival will start on Wednesday and run until Sunday, 6th October. Called Fair on the Air, the station will be heard in the Galway area on 102.8MHz. Fair in the Air runs together with the backing of the Junction Project and the No Name Club.

Ballinasloe Radio return to air
Ballinasloe Community Radio will be on air again this year on 102.8MHz in the Galway area. The station will run from this coming Monday through to October 12th and covers the Ballinasloe Fair.

Horsey types on air 25^th September 2006
Ballinasloe Community Radio returned to air today at 5pm with 'Daily Edition', presented by station manager Declan Finn. This is the fifth year running that Ballinasloe Community Radio has aired during the Ballinasloe International Horse Festival, the oldest Horse Festival in Europe. Broadcasting on 102.8MHz FM to what's deemed "the east Galway Capital", the station provides a mixture of news, information and music programming typical of a licensed community radio station. This year, the station will also include a Polish programme for the town's immigrant population.
Ballinasloe Community Radio is based in "d'Cube" youth cafe at Marina Point and is funded by Galway Youth Federation and the Ballinasloe International Horse Fair and Show.
Broadcasts continue from 5pm to 11pm nightly, with programmes running at weekends from 9am to 3pm, until Sunday 8th October.
