Knock FM
Knock FM first broadcast during the August Novena in 1999 when it was granted a special temporary licence by the IRTC. Sean Egan was the man who had the idea to seek a licence to broadcast the festivities from the Knock Shrine. It first appeared on 104.6MHz FM and ran each August until 2002.
In 2003 the station moved to 107.0MHz FM and has stayed on that frequency for their temporary broadcasts ever since. Knock FM covers local religious ceremonies and broadcasts masses for the housebound.
WESTERN PEOPLE: May 2003: The station programming aims to cover all social, cultural and economic aspects of the local area highlighting both industrial and business concerns. All local sporting, voluntary and youth organisations will have access to the airwaves. The Irish language will not be neglected and there will be an excellent mixture of music to suit all tastes and age groups.
